National Election Law Attorneys Introduction:
Election Law Attorneys deal with cases within the vast realm of election law. This can include cases pertaining to voter registration, which persons are entitled to hold office, campaign funding issues, election and ballot counting procedures including what type of ballots to be used and recount issues, rules on the division of districts for electing legislative representatives and rules placed on campaign advocacy including regulations regarding false advertising and smear campaigns. What actions can be taken and how they may be executed in the case that rights have been violated or whether or not an election outcome can be contested are also elements of election law.
An Election Law Attorney may deal in cases involving criminal or civil law violations. Election Law violations can be complicated and trials can be extensive. For example, if a person is denied the right to vote based on race, an Election Law Attorney may file suit against the offending person(s) and their supervisor(s) as well as the county or state involved.
Election Law has become more commonplace in recent years following the Bush/Gore election disaster of 2000 and is now taught in most law schools in the United States and other countries as well.
