The owner of the plant has been accused of negligence, with the lawsuit claiming that he failed to get combustible dust cleaned up, and this then led to the devastating blast that killed the plaintiff's husband amongst others.

A judge has ruled in actress Teri Hatcher's favor after a cosmetics company launched a two million dollar lawsuit against the star. Hatcher, known for her role as Lois Lane in the Superman series and more recently the star of Desperate Housewives, was accused by the cosmetics firm of promoting other beauty products while still signed with them.

A former Peoria police lieutenant has filed another lawsuit against City Hall over an alleged racial discrimination incident from over three years ago. Marshall Dunnigan was passed over for promotion over three years ago, and has filed a lawsuit that alleges racial discrimination. The lawsuit was filed late last week in District Court in Peoria.

A federal lawsuit has been filed by New Mexicans who were protesting against President George Bush last year, who was appearing as part of a fund raising event. The lawsuit claims that the protesters were kept further away from the president by authorities than his supporters were. The plaintiff claims that she was denied a promotion at the company, which is the Heartland Paper Co, because of her race, and after some rude remarks were made about Native Americans she was dismissed from her post.

A lawsuit that was filed against the state by a former Kings Park resident has been settled for one hundred and twenty five thousand dollars. The lawsuit was filed by the plaintiff Brigitte Williams who claims to have been tackled and handcuffed by a security guard in 2005 on the Kings Park Psychiatric Hospital grounds.
