More Comair Lawsuits Settled Before Trial

According to a recent report more of the lawsuits that were filed against Comair over a plane crash that killed everyone on board except for the co-pilot have been settled without having to go to trial. The crash occurred in 2006 after the plane took off from the wrong runway at Blue Grass Airport.

There are now only three pending cases left unsettled according to the report, two in Fayette County and one in Florida. Over the past two weeks seventeen claimants, who were family members of those killed in the crash, have settled with Comair.

An official from Comair stated: “Since the day of the accident, Comair has committed itself to treating the passenger families fairly and respectfully. It is comforting to come so far in this process and know we’ve honored our initial commitment.”

An attorney working for the plaintiffs said that the families were glad that they did not have to go through the crash details again, especially since the two year anniversary was approaching. He said: “I only wish it was as simple to put an end to the families’ suffering as it is to put an end to litigation. Unfortunately, that is something none of us can do.”
