President Bush Being Sued for Spying on US Residents

A lawsuit has been filed against US President George Bush, the Vice President Dick Cheney, and the National Security Agency by the Electronic Frontier Foundation. The foundation claims that the NSA electronic surveillance programme is continuing to illegally spy on residents in the United States.

The lawsuit was filed earlier this week, and claims that the NSA is spying on US residents on mass even though government officials and the president allegedly claim that it only spies on those that are suspected of liaising with terrorists overseas.

The lawsuit is a class action one, and has been filed on behalf of all residential customers of AT&T telephone and Internet services. The lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.

An official from the foundation said: “We allege a nationwide network of such NSA vacuum-cleaner surveillance facilities that would indiscriminately collect communications of all of the people who use AT&T’s network.”
