An Internet based travel company is being sued by the attorney general, Jerry Brown, who has accused it being nothing more than a pyramid scheme, which benefits just a few people and leaves everyone else with nothing. Brown is seeking over twenty five million dollars in fines and restitution from the company, YourTravelBiz.com.<\/p>\n
The company has recruited many thousands of members, by promising them that they can earn big bucks by setting up their own personal travel agency websites, according to a report. Last year the firm’s profits were up by around one hundred and seventy seven percent compared to the previous year.<\/p>\n
Jerry Brown stated that the business was “immensely profitable to a few individuals on top and a complete rip-off for most everyone else.” He added: “Today’s lawsuit seeks to shut down the company’s unlawful operation before more people are exploited by the scam.”<\/p>\n
However, officials from the firm have described the company as “a provider of Internet-based travel booking services for travel agencies and home-based independent representatives.”
