Lawsuit Filed Over Baseball Team Crash

A lawsuit has been filed on behalf of the players and coaches of Blufton University baseball team to determine whether they are entitled to claim insurance payouts after a serious bus crash that took place in March of this year. The lawsuit aims to determine whether the bus company involved and the driver were covered by insurance.

The bus that was carrying the players and coaches was involved in the accident in early March, when it careered off an Atlanta overpass on its way to Florida, where the team was supposed to attend spring training. Five students, the driver, and his wife died in the accident, and many others were injured.

Although the original lawsuit filed in October claims that the bus company and driver were insured, and therefore players and coaches are entitled to a payout, the new lawsuit claims that the insurance companies in question are not acknowledging that there was insurance cover in place and are therefore refusing to pay out.

One attorney that is representing two of the coaches in the case stated that there was a disagreement between the insurance companies with regards to coverage, and that this second lawsuit was the best way to get it sorted out as quickly as possible.
