Walmart and Netflix Accused of Profiting Illegally

A recent report claims that Walmart and Netflix have been profiting illegally, and that this was done through improper negotiations with regards to Walmart’s departure from the online video market. A number of lawsuits have now been filed with regards to this allegation according to the reports.
One lawyer who has filed a couple of lawsuits in connection to this allegation said: “There’s a giant investigation by a number of law firms throughout the country regarding anti-trust collusive behavior between these companies.”

The lawyer also claimed that in the past couple of weeks around forty separate lawsuits had been filed with regards to the same issue across the country. Walmart has said that in terms of stopping renting out videos it did nothing wrong.

One Walmart official said: “We made our own independent decision to exit the DVD rental business and our subsequent agreement with Netflix is entirely proper. We intend to defend vigorously our decisions regarding the products and services offered to our customers.”
