Also named as a defendant was the local operator of the game. The game was created by Blizzard and is run by a local operator in the area.

According to the lawsuit, there are five Chinese character fonts that are used in the game, all of which are said to have been developed by the software company, Founder Group which was founded in 1986. According to reports, a number of employees of Founder Group picked up on the use of the characters when playing the game.

With over three and a half million subscribers in China alone, World of Warcraft has become one of the world’s most popular online games. A court date for the hearing has yet to be set, and Blizzard officials state that the lawsuit is still being studied, giving no further comment.
