Animal Rights Group To Be Sued By Entertainment Group

An entertainment group is suing an animal rights group, claiming that the information that the animal rights group provided to entertainers had persuaded some of its leading acts for a forthcoming rodeo to pull out. The booking company had arranged the line up for Cheyenne Frontier Days.

According to reports Romeo Entertainment has filed the lawsuit against the animal rights group SHARK, which stands for Showing Animals Respect and Kindness. Also named as a defendant in the lawsuit is the president of the group, Steve Hindi.

As a result of information provided to entertainers by SHARK a number of high profile acts, including Matchbox Twenty and the American Idol winner Carrie Underwood, cancelled their scheduled performances. Romeo Entertainment is accusing SHARK of providing “false and misleading information” to the acts.

However, the acts themselves are not being sued for canceling by Romeo Entertainment. The president of SHARK said he is not worried about the lawsuit, stating: “I think they’re going to have a real, real tough time with this case. We are an animal protection organization, and we’re going to keep trying to protect animals.”
