Families File Lawsuit Over Loss Of Pets

Posted:

Families from housing projects in the town of Barceloneta have filed a lawsuit against the mayor of the town and an animal control company after around eighty household pets were seized and brutally killed simply because officials stated that those living in housing projects could not have pets.

Children living in the housing projects are said to have been distraught when animal control workers from Animal Control Solutions demanded their pet cats and dogs. The animals were allegedly injected with unknown substances, thrown into a van, and then thrown off a bridge into a fifty foot ravine. The lawsuit filed by the families of those that lost their pets stated: “While the raids were going on, children watched the brutality; pets soiled themselves out of sheer fear and trauma, people screamed or cried.”

One young child who lost a pet and had learning difficulties has threatened to commit suicide and sees no point in living, states the lawsuit. The mayor states that the city was not responsible once animals had been sized by the animal control company, and Animal Control Solutions claims that there is no proof that they threw the animals off the bridge.
