Hip Hop Star Sues Promoters in Australia

Posted:

The hip hop star Timbaland has filed a lawsuit against an Australian promotions company, Showtime Touring Group, claiming that its incompetence has tarnished his reputation, ruined his scheduled local concerts, and resulted in his being slated in the Australian press.

The star is demanding that the promotions company ‘set the record’ straight over a string of cancelled concerts across Australia including destinations such as Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide and Auckland, New Zealand.

According to reports Timbaland fans had been told that the concerts had been postponed until August, but just before the concerts were due to take place in August they were told that the gigs had been cancelled altogether.

The lawsuit claims that Timbaland “offered to postpone the tour dates to permit Showtime to get its act together so that he could entertain his fans. Showtime, however, was still unable to comply with its basic contractual obligations, including failing to pay the guaranteed due under the contract and failing to provide the required production elements for the tour.”
