Comedian, Sacha Baron Cohen, and his legal team have clocked up another victory over the movie, Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan. A number of lawsuits have been filed since the movie was released, and the latest was by a businessman who claimed that his likeness had been used in the movie without his consent.

However, the lawsuit, filed by New York businessman Jeffrey Lemerond, has been dismissed by the judge, stating that the scene was not defamatory, and that if could even be classed as newsworthy. Lawyers for the financial analyst had said that the seen had trashed the plaintiff’s reputation.

In the scene Borat is seen chasing people along the street to try and hug them or high five them, but the financial analyst is seen running away from Borat while yelling to him to ‘go away’. He said that as a result of the scene he had suffered “public ridicule, degradation and humiliation”.

A number of other lawsuits have been filed over the movie in the past, and have been dismissed by the judges that have dealt with them. The movie was a hit worldwide and grossed around £260 million at the box office.
